John Waite has one of the most familiar voices on Radio 4. In fact, a poll of Radio Times readers voted it one of the best voices in broadcasting. For more than twenty years, he has presented the network's daily consumer affairs programme You and Yours, as well as his award-winning investigative series Face the Facts. From a stint hosting the Today programme with John Humphrys, to a BBC 2 television series which received a top prize from the Royal Television Society, John has presented or narrated literally thousands of tv and radio shows. He has voiced audio-books, tv commercials, and is a regular host of the weekly Economist podcast and quarterly National Trust CD magazine. He has collected three Sony awards - the radio Oscars - as broadcaster/reporter of the year, and has even turned his hand to acting - playing Prince Charming to Linda Bellingham's Cinderella in the Woman's Hour pantomime!
His voice has been described as friendly, trustworthy - "warm but authoritative". |
